Good preparation for video shooting

A good concept is the basis for every video production. Ideas, requirements and objectives should be defined before the video production. For an interview, for example, the speakers should roughly prepare the text in advance and go through it. This saves time during the video shoot and post-production, while at the same time making the statement more fluid and therefore more credible. A script and clearly defined storytelling can also be beneficial for your video production. Even keywords help to plan the shoot more clearly, better and in a more structured way. Compared to a spontaneous video shoot, better results can be achieved - for example, there is no risk of important content or entire scenes being forgotten. Make absolutely sure that you have obtained the consent of all those involved in the recorded videos for publication and use in marketing in advance.

Optimal conditions for video production

Preparation for the video production also includes the location. This should be determined in advance so that the film team knows the conditions on location. For example, good lighting conditions are important (ideally daylight, no backlighting, otherwise sufficient lighting with additional lamps etc.). Noise can also influence a video production. This is a factor that should not be underestimated, especially for video shoots at events. It is therefore important to use appropriate microphones and recording equipment. It should also be clear before the video production where the finished video is to be published. YouTube, the world's second largest search platform, social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as your own website are particularly suitable for this. For video production, it is advantageous to have a permanent contact person on site to assist with organization and coordination. If questions arise, they can be clarified immediately with a fixed contact person. This also ensures that only authorized recordings and statements from the company are published. Contact persons can also organize and plan arrangements with various interview partners, for example, so that the film team can concentrate on the video production.

Video productions with an appropriate appearance

The outward appearance of interview partners and all other people who can be seen in the video is also important. For example, is a shirt not buttoned properly? Are the clothes clean? Is a predetermined uniform appearance (e.g. official work clothes) desired? Create a relaxed atmosphere. In this way, you can conduct an informal interview that does not come across as rehearsed. A tidy background is just as important - pipes, boxes or similar lying around can be distracting and look unprofessional. On the other hand, exciting elements and real scenes from everyday working life in the background can help to make the recordings more lively.

Check video recordings directly on location

It makes sense to review the video material with the contact persons after each scene has been filmed, e.g. to immediately recognize bad sound, slips of the tongue, unintentional gestures etc.. If this is not possible, several recordings of the same shot should be made. Otherwise, if this only becomes apparent during post-production, a second shoot would have to be scheduled - which is of course not always possible for video productions at events such as trade fairs or events.
