Useful marketing tools

There are countless marketing tools, e.g. for website development or tracking, publishing social media posts, project management or sending newsletters. For reasons of time alone, we cannot mention them all – after all, the deadline for the next article for a trade magazine is approaching.
Here are a few tools that have proven particularly useful for us in our daily work.

  1. Content Management Systems (CMS): A powerful CMS such as WordPress or Joomla makes it easy to create and manage websites. The systems offer user-friendly interfaces to create, edit and publish content – without the need for special programming skills. With templates, plugins and SEO optimization tools, websites can be efficiently managed, new landing pages created, designs adapted and online presences maximized.

  2. Social Media Management Tools: Companies, organizations or agencies regularly publish social media posts. Manually publishing these posts on different channels each time is very time-consuming. Therefore, social media management tools such as SocialPilot, Hootsuite or facelift have become an indispensable part of our everyday life. Such tools make it possible to publish, schedule and analyze posts on various social networks. They also offer functions for monitoring mentions of the brand, managing comments and collaborating with one’s own team. Most tools focus on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Google my Business, YouTube, TikTok and Tumblr. Only XING does not currently offer an interface to social media management tools.

Do you mainly use Facebook and Instagram? Then the Meta Business Suite is also ideally suited.

  1. Email Marketing Tools: Email marketing is still an effective way to reach and engage prospects and customers. Tools like Mailchimp or Rapid mail make it easy to create and send professional email campaigns. But it’s not just about simply sending them to contacts. You can also carry out detailed analyses with these tools. For example, you receive information on open and click rates, click maps, end devices and recipient activity.

  2. Analytics and Tracking Tools: To measure and improve the success of marketing campaigns, analytics and tracking tools are essential. The best-known tracking tool is probably Google Analytics. Due to data protection issues, there are now also DSGVO-compliant alternatives such as eTracker.

Tracking tools offer detailed insights into a website’s traffic, user behavior and conversion. Valuable insights can be gained from this – for example, which product, which service or even which blog post is being called up frequently at the moment. You can then derive further meaningful, strategic measures from this data.

  1. SEO Tools: In order for your website to gain visibility in the long term and for you to be found for relevant keywords, you cannot do without search engine optimization (SEO). With SEO tools such as Semrush, Sistrix or Xovi, you can keep an eye on the visibility of your website at all times and also monitor your competition. Look for relevant keywords and key phrases with search volume to optimize your content. Technical SEO errors such as 404 pages, long loading times, missing main headings (H1), titles or meta descriptions are also displayed centrally in the SEO tools.

  2. Project Management Tools: Project management tools such as Trello, Asana or Monday help to keep track of projects, campaigns and tasks. Work together in the team or also with external partners, service providers and customers with a central tool. Tasks and recurring workflows can be organized and optimized there. Assign tasks, set deadlines, upload approved documents and track the progress of your projects. For example, everyone can see transparently which task currently has the highest priority and what the current status of the other team members’ tasks is.
